Production Engineer, Ulverston, Cumbria

Tritech International is looking to hire a Production Engineer to join the company in an exciting new phase of the company’s development. Having recently been acquired by General Oceans the company is eager to develop its production engineering capability to support the introduction of new products and enhance overall production capability as the company grows. This role will be actively involved in the new product development process from a design for manufacturing perspective along with continued review and support of the production processes in relation to any reject rates, process time improvements and reduced manufacturing costs. This role is expected to be based at our Ulverston (Cumbria) facility where the company carries out all manufacturing.

Reports to: Engineering Manager/Director.

Job Responsibilities:

New Product Introduction:

  •  Feedback to design engineers regarding design for manufacture and practicality of build/test procedures.
  •  Hand-over activities for new products including:

- Prototype build to establish build procedure.

- Optimising and documenting new build and test procedures.

  •  Assisting with new product design and qualification (ad-hoc).

 

Production and Quality Support:

  •   Root cause analysis of faults arising from customer returns relating to issues in production.
  •   Assisting in qualification and testing new or alternative materials for production.
  •   Assisting in the design and improvement of test facilities, jigs and procedures within production.
  •   Improvement of procedures and documentation for existing products including training operators where appropriate.
  •   Liaising with suppliers where required regarding issues effecting Tritech quality or production and training out test procedures.
  •   Diagnosis and repair of defective or quarantined components/products from production.

Procurement Support:

  •  Assistance with refining and updating technical purchasing specifications to ensure suppliers meet Tritech requirements.

 

Qualifications

  •        Minimum HNC/HND or equivalent Engineering or Computing and IT.
  •        2-3 years’ experience in electronic product manufacturing
  •        Ability to organise your own time and work both autonomously and as part of a team
  •        The dive and desire to continuously improve processes and products
  •        Excellent communication skills both written and oral
